Fabtech 2013 & Bug-O Break Attendance Records

Jan. 03, 2014

FABTECH, considered to be the largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event in North America stated that the show which was held in Chicago’s McCormick Center 18-21 November 2013 broke a historical record for attendance which totaled over 40,000.  There were over 1,500 exhibitors from all over the world and spanning more than 650,000 square feet within the convention center.  Bug-O Systems proudly confirms we had a very similar experience at our booth as well.  Bug-O had a great position within this year’s show being directly on the intersection of two major isles so we apparently could not be missed and from the amount of leads and visitors we experienced, not one did miss our booth.  Since the ESSEN German Show was also this year, we were thinking that overall FABTECH attendance could be down; however such was not the case.

Even though Bug-O had a slightly smaller booth than last year, we had new displays that show-cased the MDS with every option available.  The KBUG line of fillet welders received a great deal of attention as did the BUG-O programmable circle welder CWP-1800 we had on hand.  Additionally, the Piper Plus pipe welding system was popular again as the gas and oil industries remain very strong and should continue into 2014.  However, nothing received more attention than the new line of BUGO/RTT machines.  The large trackless line called MobilWeld (Bug-O-Bot) gained a great deal of attention as the three units operated by Jaime Beard were remotely maneuvered and climbing all over the steel wall that was erected within the Bug-O booth.  It gained so much attention that even Weld.com came by and shot a video about this new and exciting product line which is being sought after by several industry groups.
