DC-IV

The DC IV is a dual speed range, positive rack & pinion drive, ready for mounting welding or cutting attachments and accessories. It consists of a DC IV Drive unit mounted on a 12″ (305 mm) Carriage.

The carriage is made of high-strength, lightweight aluminum alloys. The carriage wheels ride in opposed recessed grooves in the ARR rails, locking the carriage to the rail in all positions. The pinion from the drive unit goes through the carriage and engages the rack on the rail, providing a positive drive. Two of the four wheels on each carriage are adjustable. The wheels contain permanently lubricated, sealed bearings. All steel components are plated to resist corrosion.

The DC-IV runs on standard Aluminum Rigid Rail, for straight line applications and Aluminum Flex Rail, for large diameter applications. Vacuum Systems are available for non-ferrous metals where magnets will not hold. A Minimum of six magnets or vacuums cups are required per rail for all out of position applications. Eight are recommended.

Vacuum kits require a source of vacuum which is provided by a vacuum pump kit. The flame or arc must beat least 4″ (100 mm) away from vacuum cups. Vacuum systems can be used on material to 6000F (3180 C).

Heavy-Duty Racking Upgrade Kit for DC-IV

A Heavy-Duty Racking Upgrade Kit can be purchased for the DC-IV. It features greater durability in harsh environments such as steel mills. This new racking can be bolted on the DC-IV and/or other Bug-O tractors. The rigid torch holder provides robust torch support, so the torch doesn’t bounce or deflect during operation. The racking is available in our standard lengths: 19″, 33″ or 40″.
