2017 Starts Strong with Training at BUG-O U

Feb. 06, 2017

It was very encouraging to start January 2017 with such a strong demand for training and educating Distributor’s personnel. People in general seemed very positive at the FABTECH Show in mid-November, but to have distributors wanting to start the year off by training their people is even more encouraging that better days are coming.

Distribution in general has been speaking about how their phones are ringing more and inquiries have increased. Many report that the sales for consumable products and gases are increasing. These are all good signs, people are receiving work and people are getting back to work. Distributors that are smart are preparing their people through education so they are better positioned to handle customer’s technical questions and concerns, so as to be in a position to offer true value-added solutions.

Bug-O hosted a 2-Day Factory Training Program for Joel Armstrong, Jonathan Hartner and Jake Ewing from Red ball Oxygen on January 17-18. These three gentlemen are key process and account managers for Red Ball in the Texas area.

Additionally on January 24-25, Brian Smith and Danial Bartyzel of Inter-Mountain Sales were also at our Headquarters for their own round of training. These are the newest Regional Managers for Bug-O and they are responsible for the Inter-Mountain States which includes Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming.

After a brief introduction from our Director of Sales and Marketing, Norm Sted, Terry Bollinger took each group and spent time one-on-one in Bug-O U (our training facility) becoming familiar with our line of welding and cutting machines. With the additional help from the various Product Managers, they were trained on the full line of Bug-O products which included the Modular Drive System, the K-BUG trackless welders, Cypress welding and cutting machines and of course all other new products. Training as always, included 80% of their time in the shop, hands-on welding. We believe people learn best by actually doing.

It was a pleasure hosting each group and we welcome all distributors to come for a visit and gain first hand training and experience. For more information on how your company can receive free training, contact Norm Sted at nsted@weld.com
